Early versions of the BBC Buggy came with the 15-page typescript 'provisional' introduction to the software, as shown here - note its stamped-on serial number to match the buggy it accompanied. Its cover includes the statement "These notes will be replaced by the BBC BUGGY GUIDE which is to be published." Once production was fully underway, a polished, spiral bound buggy guide duly appeared.

The provisional guide did however include a pair of hand drawn, stapled-in A4 barcode sheets which were necessary to make use of the buggy's musical note playing and route learning programs. Barcode sheets are mentioned in the later Buggy Guide, but often seem to have been lost over the years - at any rate, I've never met any. See the Barcodes page for scans of the early versions, plus a barcodes addendum slip from the later assembly guide.
